ABSTRACT A Master's Thesis B.Gültekin SINIR Celal Bayar University Institute of Pure & Applied Sciences Branch of Civil Engineering Supervisor : Assoc.Prof.Dr.İlnıh GÖKKUŞ 1996, Page : 87, FINITE DIFFERENCE ANALYSIS OF FLOW ON POROUS MEDIA UNDER BREAKWATER In this thesis, the effects on flow through porous media of hydrpdynamic pressure which performs on the bottom of sea side of breakwater due to wave is studied. Porous media is defined as a planar grid system and the flow characteristics are determined along the horizontal and vertical axes. The boundary conditions on the axes on the sea bottom are known. Pressure and flow characteristics in each point of grid system due to the pressure conditions changing on the sea bottom are calculated by taking as the governing equation of differential form of Darcy law defining the physical structure of porous media. The finite difference method is used for obtaining the solution of the mentioned problem. For this case, the computer program is coded, it is run for the certain boundary conditions and the reasonable outputs are obtained.
