Abstract (EN)
This research is being conducted during the 2023 first-season corn growing period with the aim of determining some agromorphological traits and quality of inbred varieties of grain corn and the single hybrid methods obtained from these lines. The study is carried out in the Research and Application Area of the Department of Field Crops, Faculty of Agriculture, Çukurova University, using a randomized block design with three replications. According to the findings of the research, statistically significant differences were found between the 12 inbred grain corn lines and 14 single hybrid combinations in terms of plant height, first ear height, ear diameter, ear weight, number of kernels per ear, thousand-kernel weight, hectoliter weight, moisture content, kernel yield, starch content, oil content, and protein content. Based on the results, in terms of starch content in the kernels, the inbred lines 16DANE14 (70.2%) and 16DANE17 (70.0%), as well as the hybrid combinations 16Dane17×16Dane15 (71.2%) and 16Dane17×16Dane9 (70.8%), stood out. In terms of ear kernel yield, the inbred corn line 16DM38 (110.6 g/ear) had the highest value, while among the hybrid combinations, 16Dane1×16Dane15 (154.0 g/ear) had the highest ear.
