Abstract (EN)

Values education which has been on the agenda recently is a concept that is in the interest of both social sciences and educational sciences. Therefore, the methods and resources to be used in values education should be chosen carefully. Using literary texts in values education is one of these methods. Because literary texts generally give the message implicitly, they can be considered as an existing resource that can be used in all areas of education. The aim of this study finds out the educational aspects of the works which Daniel Pennac as one of the contemporary French literature writers pens for children and to determine what values are used and how and how often they are used in these works. Another aim is to reveal how to get values education through literary types in learning/ teaching French as a foreign language. In this study, descriptive research, as one of the qualitative research types, is used. As a result of the study, it is observed that Daniel Pennac with his teacher and writer identity frequently includes values explicitly and implicitly in his works of children's literature. It is seen that the author gives more importance to universality, self-orientation, and benevolence in values education than others. It is concluded that the works of Daniel Pennac can be effective and useful materials in terms of the educational values they have in learning/ teaching French as a foreign language.
