Abstract (EN)

Dance education starts at early ages as an extracurricular activity or as the main course at some schools in Turkey. Some students start ballet courses from the age of three and their first teacher can be a dance teacher. To be assaigned to schools as a dance teacher by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey, any kind of dance certificate is acceptable. The purpose of this research is to examine the vocational views of dance teachers in Turkey. In this research, the quantitative method was used, data were collected with the "Dance Teachers' Vocational Opinions Scale" developed by the researcher. The research group consists of 101 teachers determined by convenient sampling method. As a result of the research, it was found that the average of the items related to teachers' teaching methods and techniques, learning theories in education, and touching the students were below the general average, and the opinions of the teachers did not change according to gender, seniority, type of school graduated from, and whether they had received vocational training or not.
