Abstract (EN)
Key words: Optimum air-layer thickness, double-pane windows, heat insulation in tight channels Many countries, in accordance with the energy costs and global environment, adopt measures to improve heat efficiency in construction sector. Due to this fact, studies are underway to reduce heat losses via glass windows on the outer sides of buildings to obtain low energy consumption and perfect comfort. Research for reducing energy consumption is mainly done to improve insulation capabilities of the double glazed windows. For this reason, in order to reduce the heat transfer to a minimum level the channel width is held at certain intervals and the heat transfer between the hot and cold fluid investigated. With this study it is proved that the heat transfer in double glazed windows can be reduced by optimizing the thickness of the air layer. By this study the optimum channel width is determined which can provide the best insulation. In addition, the effects of window shades between the glass layers over heat transfer have been investigated. Different channel widths tested and the insulation properties have been determined.
