Abstract (EN)

In this study the state of verbs? phrase usage that builds valency is studied in Dede Korkut stories, which is an extremely important work in Turkish languge and culture.In Introduction section, the historical period of Dede Korkut stories, its gramatical features and its importance in Turkish language and litarature are explained; also the method of the study is clarified by referring and explaining to the verbs? phrase usage. Some notes are presented about the features of verbs? phrase usage.In Examination section the verbs in the work are ordered alphabetically and whether they are with a phrase or not, if so the number of phrases each verb has, and the case of those phrases are analysed and then illustrated with sentences taken from the work. It is clarified that; the phrases of the verbs are created by; charging, heading towards, being present, leaving and transportation modals and all those phrases with case are shown on a table.In Conslusion section; the findings about verb-phrase relationship in the work are determined item by item.Finally in index section; the works we have benefitted from are determined.Key Words: Dede Korkut stories, verb, phrase, valency.
