A review on Defter Magazine

This thesis focuses on the Journal of Defter, which was published between 1987-2002. "Defter" is a journal published by Metis Publishing, covering the subjects of literature, history, politics and philosophy. A total of 45 issues published in the journal, and there are various texts of persons from various disciplines. In the study, first of all, the period in which the magazine was born, the formation and purpose of the magazine were mentioned. In the first part of the study, the general classification of the journal was made according to its subjects. The classification is basically divided into two title of "Non-Literary Subjects" and "Literature". The classification is completed with the sub-titles added to these two titles. In the second part, which is the main element of the study, literary texts are classified and evaluated according to their themes/subjects. Despite its short-term publication life, "Defter" has succeeded in taking a place in the Turkish intellectual and literary world with both copyrighted texts and translated texts. The fact that the texts published in the "Defter" were later published as a book and became permanent is one of the proofs of this. Key words: Defter, journal, classification, analysis
