Abstract (EN)

This is a qualitative study conducted to determine the value priorities of parents and their children. A basic qualitative research design was used in the study. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with both parents and their children to determine the value priorities of parents and students. The study group consisted of third- and fourth-grade primary school students and their parents attending various schools in the Tokat province of Turkey during the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. Both groups were interviewed using a semi-structured interview form. The interview form included five questions for parents and two questions for students, along with demographic information. According to the research findings, the value "love" ranked first among parents and students. The interviews with parents and students concluded that values education begins in the family and its foundations are laid in the family environment.
