The changed veiling concept: A sociological research on the university youth

The concept of Veiling is religious practice to be evaluated in the scope of Islam religion in terms of its fundamental character and purpose. The concept of Veiling takes an important role in determining the measures of women's wear in Islam, and hiding the body. But It has been seen that it is faced with a new concept of Veiling which changes and develops because of modernism linked up with the consuming culture and fashion and keeping up with the requirements of this modern age. Especially, veiling statics in modernism of the choice of youth wearing is the subject of being affected. Veiling in the choice of wearing is opposed to a rapid change by the effect of the demand of the religion with fashion, social environment, modernism and consuming culture. It has been seen that Veiling which is a religious practice is becoming as a new veiling perception which keeps up with the secular statics, and the choice of veiling gets into the mainstream of the secular perception when considering the chances in its figure and concept. Based on this concept, in our work, it is tried to examine how the veiled students are affected by the family, social environment, economically, psychological and social media with their concept of wearing choices in veiling, and also the relation between the consuming culture and the fashion. In this respect, as a basic argument of the thesis, it has been found out the relation between the wearing choice in veiled students and the veiling fashion combined with the veiling concept, consuming culture and the fashion, and mainly due to the inherent and shape changes of the veiling and the effects of the factors causing these changes.
