Turkish foreign policy in the Period of Atatürk and İnönü in changing international balances

National benefits form the basic concept of foreign policy, which plays a major role in shaping international relations. Among the aims of foreign policy are contributing to international peace, establishing relations with other states in line with the benefits of the country, and developing neighborly relations. This study includes the beginnings of the foreign policy issues that the Republic of Turkey faced in the First and Second World Wars, its relations with the great powers, the developed alliances, and signed agreements. This study represents the great effort of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and İsmet İnönü, who made important contributions to the establishment of the Turkish Republic both in domestic and foreign policy. Regional and international dynamics have the power to affect the decisions of Leaders in foreign policy. These dynamics were analyzed within the intellectual framework of the period, taking into account the neoclassical realism approaches. At the same time, the reasons for the different foreign policy practices of states in the international environment are explained with an institutional framework and Turkey's main foreign policy decisions are emphasized.
