Today, central heating and cooling systems are widely used in hospitals, shopping centers, banks and so on. However, energy and maintenance costs of such systems are very high.In order to reduce these costs, a variety of methods are researched and these methods are being applied. The well know method of these thecniques is insulation. Recently, it is understood that the installation is not a unique solution among these. For this reason, the researchers made new assessments to reduce energy loss and research solutions, to utilize the maximum energy. One of these methods is the concept of exergy.Exergy Analysis is different from the energy analysis of a system. Exergy analysis results reveal the potential of the process for more work to do in a system. Therefore, the exergy analysis is an important method for the analysis of this system are taken into consideration. Because this analysis will reveal that it is possible to design more efficient energy systems or not able to possible by reducing inefficiencies in existing systems.In this study, energy and exergy analysis was conducted with the help of known and new methods in Elazığ Damla hospital where need approximately 6795.6 kWh heating energy per year in some parts of the building. Energy and exergy are not same consepts and exergy is occurred due to presence of energy. This study made by reference of the eye clinic where has 52 m3 17 m2 volume floor area and having in good insulation. Eye clinic is heated from the ceiling with natural gas boilers backed by VRF system such as whole building is heated. Energy and exergy analyzes have been made according to the first and second laws of thermodynamics in the eye clinic and rooms are located in different parts of the hospital building. However,different geographical conditions are revealed what kind of differences by the amount of energy and exergy, are determined and compared. As a result of the energy and exergy analysis of the eye clinic were calculated as the amount of energy is EW,fos = 267.97 W and the amount of exergy is Exü,fos = 1590.10 WAccording to climatic conditions of Turkey,four heat areas evaluation was conducted separately. Also exergy analysis of the system is currently installed in our country such as what measures can be taken for other large-capacity buildings are discussed. The purpose of exergy analysis is to determine exergy efficiency, actual amount of exergy losses and the causes of the losses.
