Abstract (EN)

In this study, the photocatalytic degradation process of Brilliant Black, which is used as a dyestuff in the textile industry, under UV light was optimized to detect the best photocatalyst in the presence of zinc oxide photocatalyst. L9 (34) Taguchi experimental design was used for the optimization to be applied for the selected parameters and levels. ZnO photocatalysts used in photocatalytic decomposition experiments were synthesized by chemical precipitation method and photocatalytic degradationperiods were investigated by using the produced ZnO materials. Thus, ZnO material was produced again according to the optimized new conditions with the results obtained by accepting the principle of "smaller is beter". After this point, the reaction kinetics determination studies were carried out using the produced ZnO photocatalyst and a time dependent equation was produced to find the conversion rate.
