Abstract (EN)

Hermetic reciprocating compressors are one of the most commonly used compressor type in household refrigeration systems. Compressor is one of the most important system part that affects coefficient of performance considerably. Nowadays, the usage of the compressors that can work on different speeds and adjust the cooling capacity (called variable capacity compressor- VCC) is increasing. The performance values of variable capacity compressors are changing respect to the operating speeds. One of the most important losses that influences the variable capacity compressor's peformance is thermodynamic losses. With the investigation of the thermodynamic losses, the work exerted on the gas, the reasons of the losses on the suction and exhaust flow lines can be determined. In this study, the thermodynamic losses of the variable speed compressor at various rotational speeds are investigated experimentally.
