Abstract (EN)

Keywords: Material selection, rail systems, multi attribute group decision making methods Material selection is significant in terms of the design, process planning and manufacturing processes of the products. Also, the selection of proper materials for a distinct mechanism is one of the most difficult duty in the product development and providing the functionality of the product for various industrial applications. In this study, the selection of useful materials is one of the important difficult tasks in product development and providing the functionality of the product for various industrial applications. An incorrectly selected material may cause various malfunctions in the final product. In addition, factors such as the suitability of the material for manufacturing, minimizing costs and maximizing performance are also considered. Therefore, an effective approach is necessary for the robust selection of the material. For solving this problem of railway transportation materials, it is applied the MULTIMOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization on the basis of Ratio Analysis with multiplicative Form) and COPRAS (COmplex PRoportional ASsessment) method. This study focuses especially iron and steel industry, categorically railway systems; freight train wagon panel. Moreover, fuzzy logic with the MULTIMOORA method and the COPRAS method are combined with the group decision process to clarify the uncertainty of decision-makers' decisions, such as the Multi-Attribute Group Decision Making Model for Decision Makers. As a result of this study, it is expected to provide the best material alternative to achieve the desired functionalities
