Determining and developing of heat treatments in iron based sintered metals

ABSTRACTn this project powder metal iron powders mixed with different ratios of different powders. Thismixed powders are separated two groups being with aluminum powders and without aluminumpowders. These two groups between each others same ratios. These processes were appliedthese groups: boroning, cementation, nitriding and treating with stream.These powders in these groups were evaluated on sensitive scale, were put in mixer and weremixed at 25 rot/min rotation at lathe. These powder were pressed with 10mm 10mm 55mmbriquette froms in one way press under 75 ton pressure.These pressed samples were sintered at Tozmetal A.Ş.. The boroning, cementation and treatingwith steam heat treatment processes were applied to the semples. Semples were comparedbetween each other : the three point bonding, micro hardness and layer tickness determinationexperiments were applied to those samples. nner structural properties, wear and crack surfacesof the samples were examined by SEM.By the increase of copper rate there is an increase in rolled resistance and decrease in breakingextended. As a result of 3 point bonding experiment our samples? , which content %3 copper,mechanical properties are increased. Samples which content %3 copper give us the best result.There are changes in the inner structure of our samples because of the heat treatment on oursamples.I
