Educational status of Manisa city in the democrat party period (1950-1960)

This study was prepared to examine the reflections of the education policies implemented by the Democratic Party governments between 1950 and 1960 on the city of Manisa and their contributions to the history of Turkish education. In the first chapter, the process of educational activities in Turkey, starting from the Tanzimat Period until 1950, was tried to be examined by dividing it into periods. In the second part, information is given by evaluating the congresses, practices, councils, budget negotiations, statistics on education levels, and teacher training held by the Democratic Party in the name of education and training between 1950-1960. In the third chapter, social and cultural activities carried out under the title of education and training in the city of Manisa between 1950 and 1960, teacher education associations, teacher, student and school situations, libraries, teacher transfers and appointments to Manisa, and the opinions of Manisa MPs about education were examined. The study was completed using various sources in accordance with scientific history research methods.
