Democratic Party government and Turkish public opinion (1950-1960)

In Turkish political life on May 14, 1950 elections, the Republican People's Party, a 27-year decline in the political power of the Democratic Party with a majority coming to political power of the need to focus on an important issue. The key factors in the context of preferences? public opinion in the Democratic Party came to political power and after coming to political power of Democratic Party is to inform the public/ to influence the methods used and how to put these across in addition how the public opinion perceive these, are the significant issues of the need to focus on. In our study consists of the importance of propaganda in influencing public opinion and the effects of media in guiding public opinion. After emphasizing them, the methods which Democratic Party followed by the creation public opinion are discussed. Naturally DP's governments, both the actions of Democratic Party and their claims that related to the period of Republican People's Party political power are emphasized by considering the issue of how these are transferred to public opinion. The importance of the public opinion for the government and opposition is recognized in 1954 and 1957 Parliamentary Elections.In our study, the Republic Prime Ministry's Archives, the period of newspaper, magazines and official publications were scanned moreover, the works of compilation and survey were used.
