Congresses and declarations of Democratic Party

Beral AlacıPolitical system having multi-party in Turkey couldn?t verified until 1945 afterperiod of Atatürk. In 1945, internal and external political developments have required themulti-party system. Multi-party in our political system have been possible in 1946 afterrequired political studies. Democratic Party established at January 7, 1946 has been mostimportant party of multi-party system. Democratic Party established by Adnan Menderes,Celal Bayar, Fuat Köprülü and Refik Koraltan, have been goverment at 14 May-election in1950. So, Demeocratic Party period continued for 10 ten years, have began. Decisions andperformances during period of Democratic Party, have big importance in Turkish PoliticalHistory.Another big importantmatter in period of Democratic Party are the congresses anddeclarations performed Democratic Party. During 14 years -political life of Democratic Party,4 general congresses have been performed at Ankara Büyük Salon. 2 of them are thecongresses performed at 1947 and 1949 before goverment and the others are the congressesperformed at 1951 and 1955 after goverment .Democratic Party has shown liberal ideas at two congresses performed beforegoverment. Especially, it has supported the freedom idea never shown before.On the other hand, congress performed during goverment, have been efeected by pressingpolicy of the Democratic Party. For this reason, congress at 1951 and 1955 have beenperforemed at opression atmosphere. At the other side of congress, declarations announced atcongresses have big importance. These declarations have serious affects for political life ofthat period.Subject of that thesis is the congresses and declarations of Democratic Party andPolitical life of that period.
