Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in 83 sample fields in the spruce forests of Trabzon province, Maçka district and Maçka Forest Directorate. The damage condition of the Dendroctonus micans Kugelann (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), which is an important place in the sustainable forest management concept and which requires careful monitoring of all processes from its damage to the struggle, has been evaluated according to some stand characteristics and the predator insect which plays a role in balancing the population of this species is Rhizophagus grandis (The active state of Gyllenhal (Coleoptera: Monotomidae) was determined. It has been determined that 20,5% of the standing trees in sample plots have damaged of D.micans. As it has been determined that 20% of the trees in sunny aspect and 21% of the trees in shady aspect are damaged; 19,8% of the trees in medium and mature stands and 29,6% of the trees in mature stands age have been damaged. The destructive species have mostly preferred lower canopy and mature stands and damage the wounded trees at a higher rate. This type preferred 25,6% of the trees that had previously been damaged and failed by D. micans. 26,5% of the trees in active galleries are in host tress and 53,8% of those trees are the mature stands. Moderate positive linear correlation has been found between total D. micans individual numbers in active galleries and total R. grandis individuals present in those galleries. When it is evaluated based on the stand; the highest damage rate of D.micans is 55% and its lowest rate is 3,85%; while the average invasion rate of R.grandis is 18,24%.
