Özet (EN)
In the last 30 years there is an increase in the rates of invasive infections of candida species like the other health-care associated infections. In this epidemiological development there is also a role of surgical procedure, central venous catheter use and use of broad spectrum antibiotics. Fungal peritonitis is rare but it's a serious intraabdominal infection. Candida albicans which is especially seen in surgery intensitive care units and hemodialysis patients, is the most frequently detected pathogen in fungal peritonitis in many centers; but in recent years there is an increase in the rate of non-albicans Candida species like Candida tropicalis (C.tropicalis), Candida glabrata, Candida parapsilosis ve Candida krusei due to the increase of invasive procedures and health-care associated infections. Liposomal amphotericin B and caspofungin are used in resistant or not resistant C.albicans/ non-albicans Candida strains. İn this study, an experimental model of C.tropicalis peritonitis has been composed. There were 8 groups consisted of totally 56 mice, the infection has implemented to mice by intraperitoneally; and liposomal amphotericin B and caspofungin have implemented in three different dosage as a treatment. The survival and the growth of C.tropicalis in SDA of tissue(spleen) and periton have been eveluated. As a result of this experimental C.tropicalis peritonitis model, in harmony with the literature there was no difference between liposomal amphotericin B and caspofungin used as the therapy. But, there is need for the experimental and clinical wider series of studies about invasive infections formed by non-albicans candida species.
