Abstract (EN)
The Comparison of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy and Insulin Therapy in the Experimental Type 1 Diabetic Rats Diabetes characterized by beta cell destruction is one of the most important causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. Today, exogenous insulin replacement is the most common clinical treatment. However, alternative treatment modalities are investigated due to complications caused by prolonged use of insulin. MCH therapy is one of the methods studied in these applications. However, cell loss resulting from cellular stress caused by multifactorial adverse conditions after stem cell administration has led to the emergence of a research area for the development of stem cell therapy models. In our study, we aimed to explore the effect of MSCs on Streptozotocin-induced diabetes in male albino rats, their potential therapeutic effect and possible applications in human diseases. In this study, 24 male Wistar albino rats (250 - 300 grams) were used. It was divided into four groups: Group I (Diabetic group), Group 2 (Diabetic group receiving insulin therapy), Group 3 (MDC-treated diabetic group) and Group 4 (MSC and Insulin-treated diabetic group). The model of diabetes was generated by intraperitoneal injection of STZ (50 mg / kg). MSCs were injected intrapancetically in the rat pancreas in Group 3 and Group 4 at one time and all experimental groups were sacrificed three weeks later. Blood glucose and insulin levels of all subjects were measured during the experiment. In conclusion, although the treatment of MCD was not statistically significant, it had significant regenerative abilities at the textural level in rats with Type 1 diabetes. In the light of these results, it was thought that MSC treatment could be used as an additional treatment in the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes and in obtaining healthy pancreatic morphology. We believe that there is a need for an additional molecule to make this effect more effective for the body, although it contributes to histopathological recovery in patients with type 1 diabetes. The results of our study indicate that this molecule is early short-term insulin. Key Words: Mesenchymal Stem Cells, Streptozotocin, Diabetic Rat, Insulin
