The reflection of experimental typography applications to ceramic surfaces

The aim of this research is to create practically " The reflection of experimental typography applications on ceramic surfaces". In this context, related literature has been analysed and the findings have been interpreted. Experimental typography gained a different aspect by extending traditional typograhy made with the machine directory. Within the impact of advancing technology, through various graphic designing programs, in accordance with specialists and artists' design principles and the results of the researchs from various works and the unique interpretations, it is seen that typography has gained an experimental dimension. In the beginning, experimentation was restricted with the applications in digital atmosphere, later it found a way to express itself in different atmospheres with different materials and moved 3-D by going beyond being a printed material. Considering this, in the second part of the thesis, experimental typography has been examplified by mentioning of usage areas and variated according to the composing materials. Ceramic works have been included in the study which were made by using typography in our country and throughout the World until today- with the thought that they are experimental typography if they are evaluated through graphics. In the third part of the thesis, there are two different application phases. The first phase is composed of the designs by graphic plans and programmes. The second phase is composed of the pictures interpreted through ceramic technics and methods and the compositions in the digital environment. Key Words: Experimental Typograhy, Design, Ceramic.
