Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to compare the effects of different core stabilization exercises applied on stable and unstable surfaces on static-dynamic balance, functional movement scoring and yopchagi technique performance in taekwondo players. An unstable (n=26), and a stable (n=24) training groups perfromed 30 minutes core exercise sessions per week for tem weeks meanwhile attended normal taekwondo training sessions with a control group (n=20). . The effects of the exercises applied at the end of 10 weeks on the static-dynamic balance, functional movement scoring and yopchagi technical performance tests of the athletes were compared using variance analysis in repeated measurements MANOVA (p<0,05) within and between groups in the pre and post tests. Significant differences were observed between and within groups as a result of the static and dynamic balance tests. In functional movement analysis scoring, positive significant differences were detected in the comparisons between groups and within groups in all tests except Plank and Left Hurdle Step tests. Yopchagi technical performance analysis results showed no significant difference between groups in right and left knee flexion and left trunk lateral flexion tests, while significant differences were observed between groups and within groups in all remaining tests. As a result, it was revealed that athletes achieved more positive results in the exercises performed on unstable surfaces and showed improvement in the tested parameters in core stabilization exercises performed on stable and unstable surfaces. Accordingly, it can be said that core stabilization exercises are required for these critical parameters that determine the performance in the name of the two main competition disciplines of the taekwondo, kyorugi and poomsae.
