Abstract (EN)

Life-cycle analysis is a tool used to calculate the environmental impact of a product's raw material production, transport, use and disposal to identify problematic points of production and to address the source of problems from the cradle to the cradle (throughout the life cycle - from cradle to cradle). In this study, all the processes for one meter of tulle denim fabric were explained and life cycle analysis of denim fabric was performed from harvesting the cotton from the field to the end-product. The environmental effects of the processes applied in each of these processes were examined separately. The most important effects are water and energy losses. These effects are classified according to specific criteria by collecting the data obtained in each process step. The classified data were calculated by proportioning the appropriate units of measurement. Calculations were performed by using SimaPro v8.5.2.2 software that compares and analyzes the same processes of different parameters. The results has been found effective in revealing the most realistic values thanks to the very large database of software used.
