Using and performance of soybean fiber in denim and sportswear fabrics

In this thesis; cotton and cotton/soybean blend yarns were produced to be used in weft yarn in denim and sportswear product group fabrics. Yarns were used in four blends as 100% cotton, 70-30% cotton-soybean, 90-10% cotton-soybean and 50-50% cotton-soybean. Yarns were produced in two different numbers as Ne10 and Ne16. The warp yarn number was kept constant and it was Ne9,8. Quality control tests were applied to the yarns. Two types of fabrics, denim and sportswear, and fabrics with and without elastane were produced with these yarns. In the thesis study, the Taguchi Method was used as an optimization technique. In the thesis study, the effect of soybean fiber on yarn and fabric (sportswear/denim) quality parametres was revealed and statistically investigated.
