Abstract (EN)
In this study, soil properties were determined by conducting laboratory experiments on the marine sand we obtained from Iskenderun Bay. The ground features are classified as poorly graded marine sand (SP) and poorly graded gravel (GP). The results of the experiments using the shear box (116mm*116mm*60mm) produced within the scope of this thesis were compared. A number of experiments have been conducted to understand the interaction between Geocell and marine sand. Marine soil samples with particle size from 1 mm to 11 mm and different grain distributions, it was used under three different normal stresses (43 KPA, 86 KPA and 172 KPA). Furthermore, the effect of different relative densities (30%, 50% and 70%) on the interface properties between geocell and the two ground layers has been investigated. The soil samples have also been studied as dry and saturated. The results showed significant improvement shear strength properties of the research due to the presence of Geocell. The interaction between Geocell and soil has shown us that shear strength increases with respect to increased stresses and increased relative densities values.
