Abstract (EN)

In this study, the oxidation mechanism of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in the sea water using nickel, copper, silver, stainless steel (304), zinc and vanadium was investigated by open circuit potential, cyclic voltammetry and impedance analysis. Nickel showed the highest electro-catalytic activity at 14 pH, 0.6 V potential and 0.021 M H2S concentration. The oxidation mechanism of hydrogen sulfide was investigated, and a fuel cell operating with acidic peroxide as oxidant and basic hydrogen sulfide as fuel was constructed. A stable solid state solid H2S/H2O2 fuel cell has been developed 298 K. When the acidic hydrogen peroxide was used as the oxidant, the cell potential increased to 0.85 V at 298 K.Key Words : Sea water, hydrogen sulphide, electro-oxidation
