Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYThe Prevalence of Bovine Herpesvirus Type 1 (BHV-1) Infection in Dairy Cows in Denizli ProvinceIn serological examination of this study, 370 sera collected from non-vaccinated and healthy dairy cows bred in 25 dairy farms located in Denizli province were tested using by ELISA. For virological examination, a total of 80 nasal and genital swabs were tested using by antigen ELISA and PCR techniques. By serological study, 4.05 per cent (15/370) were found to be positive for BHV-1 specific antibodies. However, none of swab samples were detected to be positive for BHV-1 antigen or viral DNA. Summary, the prevalence of BHV-1 in dairy farms in Denizli province was determined to be lower.Key Words: Antibody, Bovine Herpesvirus Type 1, Cattle, ELISA, PCR.
