The social and economic structure of Denizli: From Tanzimat era to the 2 nd period of constitutional Monarchy

In the 19th century there were so many radical changes inThe Ottoman Empire in many fields. Especially it became apparent after the Tanzimat Edict was announced in 1839. To be able to understand how these reverberated the provinces is highly possible by identifying the development in the provinces and sanjaks where the forms of life used to be determined. From the point view of this way of thinking in our thesis we analyzed the social and economic aspects of Denizli which was a kind of passage among Aegean Sea, Central Anatolia and Mediterrenean between the years 1839 and 1908 and it has been aimed to contribute to enlighten even a small section of the Ottoman State as far as I can do. For this purpose it has been made use of mainly population registers and temettuat notebooks concerning Denizli the notebooks and the documents obtained from Prime Ministry Ottoman Archieves, Denizli şer?iyye registers, state yearbooks and Aydın provincial authority yearbooks.
