Abstract (EN)

Earthquakes are one of the most destructive and effective natural disasters that cause great loss of life and property all over the world. It is known that many large earthquakes have occurred in the world in the last century and millions of people have lost their lives as a result of these earthquakes, and countless structures have been destroyed. For economic reasons, it is not possible to rebuild all of the existing structures that cannot provide earthquake safety. In this sense, it has been preferred to strengthen structures that do not have adequate earthquake safety in many cases. In this study, according to TBDY 2018, the subject of earthquake-influenced evaluation and retrofit design of existing reinforced concrete buildings was examined. In the first phase, the main differences between TDY 2007 and TBDY 2018 were explained regarding the evaluation of existing reinforced concrete buildings. Using STA4-Cad-V14 program, an existing reinforced concrete building selected as an example, strength and design were analyzed both according to TDY 2007 and according to TBDY 2018. The results were compared. The second phase was designed with retrofit methods for reinforced concrete structures proposed in TBDY 2018. According to the system and on the basis of the element by strengthening separately, mold, iron and concrete measurements were determined and comparisons were made in terms of cost analysis. Keywords: Current reinforced concrete building, strengthening, the level of damage, performance analysis by TDY 2007 and TBDY 2018
