Abstract (EN)
Although disasters are natural or man-made events, they cause physical, environmental and socio-economic losses for people and deeply affect life. Earthquakes also appear as natural disasters, and their destructive effects sometimes reach huge dimensions. Although human beings are faced with many negative situations as a result of the earthquake, it is seen that the earthquake has a greater impact on the need for shelter. It is known that today, many different temporary shelter units are produced to meet the shelter need, especially after the earthquake. Temporary shelter units constructed after the earthquake must be able to be established quickly and in a short time, be moved to different settlements when necessary, and have low production costs as well as being able to meet the needs of disaster victims. Wood is one of the building materials used in the creation of temporary shelter units. Many advantages such as its naturalness, ease of supply and good mechanical properties take wood to a different point compared to other materials. Although wood, which has an important place in building culture, has lost its importance over time, developments in technology and building designs have brought it back to the agenda. In this thesis study, a wooden house design and modeling of this design were carried out for temporary shelter after the earthquake. In this context, temporary shelter units designed with two different types of wood were analyzed and modeled with SAP 2000 structural analysis and the values obtained for both models were compared. When the period values of the models were examined, it was found that Model-2 behaved more rigidly. While displacement and rotations occurred at the tops of the structure for Model-1, this situation was determined at the top of the structure and intermediate nodes in Model-2. It was found that the most unfavorable loading in terms of displacement for both models was the 1,4G+1,6Q combination.
