Özet (EN)

Radiotherapy has an important role an the treatment of prostate cancer. There are numerous (or many) techniques. ( that can be used in the treatment.) Intensity modulated radiotherapy ( IMRT ), which is an advanced form of 3- dimensinal-conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT), helps to increase the dose tumor while decreasing the dose, received by organs at risk (OAR). Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Necmettin Erbakan in the post-operative radiotherapy for prostate cancer, 10 patients were included in the study. Two different treatment plans were generated for all the patients; IMRT and 3DCRT. Tde doses in the target volume and the doses recervedly OAR were compared fot two plans using dose volume histograms ( DVH). There mm. ( Computed tomograpy scans were taken ( CT ) for all the patients in supine rotation with empty rectum and full bladder). CT scan were transsferred to Eclipse treatment planning system (TPS). The target volume and OAR including rectum, bladder, penil bulb and bilateral femur heads were determined. 18 MV and 6 MV photon energy were used for 3D-CRT and IMRT techniques. The doses of the target volume and OAR which were obtained from DVH, were analysed analysed using SPSS. With compared DVH? s analyse and statistical data, critical organs received less dose and tumor tissue received homogeneous dose distribution has been found to be beter in IMRT than 3DCRT techniques.
