2. SUMMARY IDENTIFICATION OF DERMATOPHYTES ISOLATED FROM DERMATOMYCOSİS CASES AND THEIR SENSITIVITY TO ANTIFUNGAL AGENTS Aydan Özkütük. Dokuz Eylul University Medical Faculty, Department of Microbiology, Inciralti, Izmir, Turkey Dermatophytes cause infections named dermatophytoses on skin, hair and nails. Dermatophytoses frequently show a tendency to become chronic infections and are therefore a difficult problem to treat in our population Our study investigated the most common infectious dermatophytes in our population and their sensitivity to Griseofulvin, Miconazole, Bifonazole and Oxyconazole and determined the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values. Dermatophytes were isolated from 106 of the 770 samples studies (13.7%) and of the 100 that were studied 70 were T.rubrum, 24 were T.mentagrophytes, 3 were M.canis and 3 were E.floccosum. According to our sensitivity tests the MIC values for the isolates were 0.19-6 |ig/ml for Griseofulvin, 0.06-4 \ig/m\ for Miconazole and ^ 0.03-4 ng/ml for Oxyconazole and Bifonazole. Key Words: Dermatophytes, dermatophytoses, antifungal agents, antifungal susceptibility tests.
