Abstract (EN)

Analyses in this study focus on the physical, chemical and hydrological properties of Derme Stream located in the province of Malatya. Water inlets and outlets from the stream exist both at the irrigation season and at the outside of the irrigation season in Derne Stream system. The effect of this inlet and outlet are investigated by means of PHysical and chemical analyses. Irrigation water quality classification is made according to these results of the analyses. In the study, water samples was taken from eleven different locations along the Derme Stream and the irrigation canal, that located at downstream, on May, June and September, 2013. Some physical properties (temperature, dissolved oxygen, PH and electrical conductivity) are determined at samples locations. Some other chemical analyses (Ca, Mg, NH4, PO4, NO2, HCO3, salinity, BOD, COD, total suspended, solid matter, residual Na2SO4, and organic matter ) are made in laboratories of Malatya Special Provincial Administration. GeograPHic information system software (GIS) is used to determine for hydrological and consideration the results of analyses. Consequently hydrological characteristics and PHysical, and chemical properties of Derme stream are determined. The results show that, Derme stream has first class in view of irrigation water.
