Determine differentiating efficiency of the blind, low vision and sighted students reading comprehension perofrmance according to revised text and text in the textbooks

The aim of the study is to determine differentiating efficiency of the blind, low vision and rmal students? reading and understanding performance according to revised text and text in the textbooks. The research group is consist of 208 students in 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, sigts students, blind students and the students with low vision from Mitat Enç Blinds Primary School, Göreneller Blinds Primary School, Kurtuluş Primary School, and Emniyetçiler Primary School.In the research three texts from ?science and technology? coursebooks for 4th, 5th and 6th graders, new variations of the these texts prepeared to make them proper according to pedagogic aspect and comprehension questions are used.In order to apply the research, neutral appointment method is used to determine which re-structural text to give to the students. During the application students are given the texts and asked to read them once. Next, the students are given the comprekension questions and asked to answer them.?T? test (for dpendent groups) is used to compare the level and distribution of correct answer of the normal students, blind students and the students with low vision to the comprehension questions. In addition, ?effect level? is regarded in order to determine if the students seeing level has any affect on reading and understanding.As a result of the reseach it is observed that the correct answers of normal students, blind students and the students with low vision to the comprehension questions have increased comparing to structural texts in the coursebooks. They have more correct answer to the questions about re-structured texts.In addition, at the end of the research it is clear that students with low vision are the most successful group according to reading the both texts. However, Blind and the normal students groups? performance is mostly same in each text.
