Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to find out overall evaluations of natural and artificial radioactivity levels of ophiolite rocks exposed over location of Tekirova region in Antalya. An examination of geological regarding Antalya-Tekirova ophiolite rock samples were conducted, their technological properties were investigated, chemical analyzes were examined and all these data were evaluated together with gamma spectrometer values. Evaluation of the rocks as geological has been carried out in the meantime by transferring related to the tables, basic statistics have been fullfilled between each other. In light of findings obtained from the research were emerged to the foreground with rocks having radiation values indicating natural and artificial anomaly. Within the context of thesis, the results of radioactivity measuring were identified to vary in the range of 28,82-985,83 Bq / kg for K-40 activity, in the range of 0.26-212,07 Bq / kg for U-238 (Ra) activity, between 1,06 and104,30 Bq/kg for Th-232 activity, Using of these values around the world and Turkey averages, fulfilling in calculation given the result of dose values that arising from average radiation by samples producing was identified to be below of the level of permissible dose values. However, Tekirova S25, S30 and S31, Kemer S33, S35 and S40, Kumluca S4 and S29 at locations have been determined to have upper limits of radiation and it is thought that it is beneficial to control the health of the people living in this region. The results of the research suggest that the ophiolite rocks of Antalya-Tekirova on the whole do not affect human health significantly in terms of natural radioactivity.
