Abstract (EN)
In this study, the phytochemical content of Eremurus Spectabilis young leaves (Liliaceae) and cytotoxicity study of different solvent extracts were determined. Totally 12 compounds were isolated from the hexane, ethyl acetate and water extracts. Six (6) compounds were elucidated using spectroscopic methods (1H, 13C-NMR, HMBC, HMQC, HRMS and GC-MS) and literature data. Isolated compounds were identified as chrysophanol (1), methyl linolenate (2), β-sitosterol (3), inosine (4), isoorientin (5) and sucrose (6). All compounds were isolated for the first time from E. spectabilis. Hexane, ethyl acetate and water extracts and isolated compounds were examined for cytotoxicity in various cancer cells (HeLa, A-549, MCF-7, mPANC96, PC-3, CaCo-2, U87-MG, HEK293) and inhibition levels of iNOS. Extracts and compounds showed no cytotoxic effect on the cell lines used. The hexane extract was found to be active in terms of inhibition of iNOS.
