The money counting machine (MCM) is one of the miracles of the science. The different techniques have been used to design and develop a currency counting machine up to a high-level currency counting machine, which uses image processing to detect the currency type of the currency counter from the normal-type currency counting machine. These machines can detect both very fake money and can operate at high speed. These devices are quite expensive. This is why it is used in commercial areas such as banks, foreign exchange bureaus, and markets. However, with the recent development of microprocessor technology, improvements have been made to the design of these currency counting machines. In this thesis, the design and realization of money counting machine which both counts the money of different currencies and determines the fake money has been aimed. ARM Cortex-M4 based 32-bit teensy microcontroller has been used in the design of the currency counting machine. The developed MCM contains three sensors. Each one has certain action. Firstly, infrared sensor has been used to start and stop the machine. Secondly, ultraviolet sensor has been utilized to detect fake money . Finally, laser transmitter and receiver circuits have been used to count each currency pass through them. The mechanical parts that consist of the roller which has rods in a continuous pattern and the roller move these rods with a particular fixed speed. The count result is displayed to the user using seven-segment LEDs. If the machine detects the counterfeit money, it automatically stops. The results are quite satisfactory. The developed machine counts money with high accuracy and high accuracy.
