Abstract (EN)

Solving the main problems encountered in cities with a science and technology approach brings the concept of smart city to us. Citizen-oriented solutions have offered to the problems experienced in smart cities, and a sustainable environment, high level of welfare, correct use and management of resources are aimed. IoT studies have used to transform traditional cities into smart cities. In this context, wireless monitoring techniques for the correct use of existing resources and the development of various applications to increase the welfare of citizens and accelerate the transformation to the digital world come to the fore. In this study, considering the main problems encountered in cities, the subject of why smart cities are needed has been discussed as a whole and the basic components of cities such as smart water management, smart waste management, smart city transportation and air pollution management in smart cities have been examined separately. In addition, due to the serious water losses in cities, a pipeline prototype was prepared in the laboratory environment to detect leaks in pipelines using the FSR sensor and nRF24L01 wireless communication module, and a wireless leak detection device was developed. The device determines the pressure level in the pipeline and transmits the data wirelessly to the internet environment. Various leak scenarios have been created on the pipeline prototype and the changes made by the leaks on the FSR sensor have been successfully transferred to the internet.
