ABSTRACTFollowing the invention of printing press and after then newspapers printed inNetherland in 17th century, the most important communication media is radio basis ofwhich had been invented by Italian Marconi in 1895. The radio broadcasting whichstarted in 1921 in the world, shortly after comes to Turkey. Following thebroadcasting tests starting in 1923, radio broadcasting started in 1927 in Turkey sobecoming one of the pioneer countries of radio broadcasting in the world.Afterwards, varying balances in the world, the discovery of great effects of radioon the masses, the control of radio broadcasting was taken by Turkish Governmentas many countries in the world.Public Radio could not satisfy sufficiently the changing needs of the publicaudience. Besides technological improvement, this situation also caused theestablishment of private radios. From the day that private radios started broadcastingtill today, those radios which established with amateur aims, even sometimes forhobby, developed and differantiated in broadcasting styles, program concepts and intechnical infrastructure. Many of those radios take broadcasting as struggle at worldlevel.However, there exist no recent studies about changes, developments anddifferantiation. Available studies are generally taking the transition period intoconsideration in chronological means. This study examining and studying thosechanges is supposed to fill this lack.
