A research on using of idioms and proverbs in Turkish education for foreign people

In this research, to foreign people, whose importance is getting increase day by day in the developing world, how, why and how much idioms and proverbs, which are accepted as important oportunities in Turkish teaching field and reflecting the cultural value of the society using that language, to be taken place were aimed to be explained by means of examples and several supports.By means of which, it was questioned for what reason people learnt a foreign language and accordingly, it was revealed that the necessity of getting benefits from idioms and proverbs on language teaching during historical period and present day conditions. In historical period the studies about Turkish teaching field to foreign people, the general and fundamental principles of foreign language teaching, the methods and techniques of foreign language teaching, audial and visual metarials used in foreign language teaching were examined in details through the fundamental purpose of this research. The approaching of Turkish in Turkey Education Programme of Europe Language Portfolio prepared by Turkish Republic of Ministry of Education to proverbs and idioms teaching was examined through the fundamental purpose of the research as well. The books used in common for foreign people in Turkish teaching and chosen as sample were evaluated with respect to idioms, the existence of proverbs their teaching approach present time.In the determination of proverbs and idioms which will be able to be used in Turkish teaching to foreign people, the sixth, seventh, eights classes Turkish course books and work books were evaluated in regard to proverb and existence of idiom to be criterian.As a result of the researches carried out, it was proved that proverbs and idioms should be absolutely included in teaching process in order to provide cultural transference to foreign people perfectly in Turkish teaching.
