The use of digital installation methods in the context of new media art in the public area: Panorama 25 aralik Gaziantep defense hero panorama and museum

In this study, the institutional structure and architecture of Panorama 25 Aralık Gaziantep Defense Heroism Panorama Museum and exhibition practices in the context of new media art were examined. In the thesis, which has a qualitative research design; A semi-structured interview technique was applied along with literature and document scanning. In addition to panoramas, dioramas, and oil paintings made with traditional methods, digitally produced interactive projection installations, video artwork, animation projection, cinevisions, promotional videos, kiosks, QR document scanning, and green screen photo-taking areas. It has been concluded that social media studies related to museums and new media technologies should be used effectively in the public sphere for the continuity of social memory. Projection mapping studies have limited permanence, as they are applications that can be displayed in certain time periods and especially at night. In this context, it is aimed to enable the projection mapping applications on digitized spaces to be seen by visitors at any time with the VR application. The museum building is suitable for digital installation in public space with its deconstructivist and sculptural structure. For projection mapping, the motion graphic animation work, which was prepared based on the works exhibited in the museum, the photographs of the heroes who took part in the National Struggle, and the documents used at that time, were studied on models both in two dimensions and in three dimensions. In order to show how to apply for projection work on the model of the building, a video application with motion graphic animation was made.
