Abstract (EN)

Digital target systems are unique systems that provide flexibility to realistically simulate many different situations and to display the target in both sports and education. Today, automated systems are very expensive and in this study it is aimed to reduce the cost. In this thesis, current classification systems, their applications and their history are investigated. It is also aimed to determine the position of a bullet passing through an area scanned by an infrared emitter and infrared receiver, to calculate points according to the bullet position, to display digitally the location of the target and to determine the passing time of the bullet. Infrared transceiver sensors, microcontrollers, a filtering model and a computer are used as hardware in the system. The entire algorithm has been written using C and C # libraries. A special model made of matte black material has been produced to focus the light from the infrared transmitters and to trigger the infrared receiver from a single infrared transmitter. A three-layer electronic target board has been produced that consists of infrared receiver and transmitter circuits and a filtering model circuit. The relative position and score of the bullet has also been determined using a computer. In this thesis, the algorithms have been used for the detection, segmentation and analysis of different parts of the target. In addition, analysis of classification accuracy has also been done by comparing the real target paper with the virtual target image. As a result of the analysis, it has been found that there is an error ratio between 0 mm and 7 mm. Since there is no need to use target paper in this system, the cost of target paper has been eliminated. Therefore, it is an environmentally friendly system.
