Abstract (EN)

The concept of jewellery is a piece that has been used by mankind for centuries and is identified with human history. This concept dates back to ancient times; It is known that people who want to be protected from hidden forces for magic, evil eye, talisman purposes make jewellery with various stones and today many of them are in world museums. Jewellery, which was used for status, wealth and adornment purposes in previous periods, later took on an artistic structure. Traditional production techniques, works and features from the past have been left behind, allowing artists to produce contemporary jewellery and to design jewellery that is not just an ordinary jewellery product, but an artistic expression and an element of art. Today, with the developing digitalisation, technology and computers, 'Computer Aided Software' is used in the field of jewellery design as in many disciplines. Digital technologies, which allow designers to create prototypes faster and at low cost, have provided an important transformation in design processes. This development has led to both faster modelling and acceleration of production stages. Thus, artists have found the opportunity to create more free and original designs. Designs prepared in the computer environment offer faster and more effective results in terms of previewing. In this context, although many design software have been developed, the main feature that distinguishes ZBrush from others is that it incorporates modular design techniques (ZModeler) as well as sculpting capabilities. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of ZBrush programme on design in the field of jewellery design by reviewing the information in the literature together with the more original, more creative aspect of ZBrush among the computer-aided software used with the developing technology. Within the scope of the research, the basic modelling types used in the ZBrush program are examined and methods for increasing the program skills of the ZBrush program in digital environment 3D jewellery design are explained. Within the scope of the research, the interface of the ZBrush programme, command operations and the conveniences provided by the programme in 3D jewellery design are explained with examples.
