Abstract (EN)

This work entitled Construction and Presentation of Digital Player Identity discusses the interaction of digital players with games and gamers. First of all, it has been tried to show that the game of digital stretching does not exactly match the definition of game in classical theory. Subsequent approaches to identity, self, and personality have been discussed. Physical and digital ethnography was performed in the application section of the workshop and qualitative data were gathered by focus group, in-depth interview and participatory observation techniques. In total, 32 digital players, 28 male and 4 female, were interviewed and notes were recorded from the field. As a result of the research findings discussed together with the theories of identity and classical game theory, it has been seen that the expansion of the game space did not change the nature of the game although it changed its definition. Process of creating digital players identity is effected by digital games which is a socialization mode. The ethics and codes of conduct of the digital player, interaction rituals are quite evident. In the result of the research, a classification of the games was proposed and digital player was desciribed than its presentation of self was discussed.
