Abstract (EN)

Usage of digital media tools has changed over years. Based on this change, there are variations on digital media usage habits of generations. Especially, the new generation of 2000s shows significant difference from earlier generations on their usage habits because they have born in a time period where technology progress rapidly and social media tools became a regular part of daily life. This difference led them to create a new culture which consists of a higher interaction with digital media tools. Thus, this new way of culture is named as digital culture. In the current study, digital culture as a new eay of cultural development and its features such as social media tools, digital immigrants and digital native are discussed. At the same time, development processes of Internet and differences between generations are also issued in the study. The purpose of this research is to examine the differences and habits of the X, Y and Z generations called "Digital Indigenous" and "Digital Immigrants" in the socialization process of internet, digital social media networks and especially Facebook usage levels. It is also very important to contribute to the literature in this field by doing a comparative study on Digital Indians and Digital Immigrants. Survey method were used in this study. Key Words: Socialization Process, Social Network, Digital Immigrants, Digital Native, Digital Culture.
