Usage habit of digital technologies and socialization: A study on primary school students

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is generally to examine the relationship between usage habit of digital technologies and socialization processes of the second level-primary school students. A questionnaire, which was developed by the researcher, was conducted to 148 children to assess their habits of use and their attitudes towards socialization. SPSS 24.0 version has been used to evaluate the data. In order to determine children's usage of digital technologies and general habits, descriptive tables, frequencies, and percentages are utilized. Exploitive factor analysis is used for measuring the attitudes of children's usage habits and socialization. Total four factors involving socialization are founded in analysis. These factors are identified as follows; fun – leisure time activity, socialization, knowledge acquisition, and research – interaction. Such factors are also examined in terms of gender, age, use frequency, city, and other variables. In this context, T-Test and ANOVA Test are conducted.
