Abstract (EN)

If the waste heat released as a result of Electronic devices working can?t thrown out and the cooling can?t be performed this will cause loss of performance and an unhealthy work environment. For this purpose, heat transfers of systems must be improved continually. In this study, the effect of an oblique plate on the mixed convection heat transfer from long itudinal fins in a horizontal rectangular channel is investigated experimentally. Thus, it is foreseen that the oblique plate which is place in front of the fins will direct the cool air to the fins and improve the heat transfer. In this experimental study performed, Reynolds number in order to see laminar flow features (Re=2300-1500-250 three different values) , Grashof number in order to provide mixed convection flow conditions (Gr = 5x107-3x108-5x108-8x108-1x109 five different values), oblique plate angles (?= 0?-20?-40?-60? four different values) are investigated. As a result of the experiments, the increase of the angle of oblique plate has caused heat transfer coefficient and the Nusselt number to decrease. This decrease is a result of oblique plate denying the cooling fluid to reach the rising air because of the gravity force.KeyWords : Fins, obliqueplate, heat transfer, mix convection
