Abstract (EN)

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to compare the rate of emotional dysregulation, emotion expression, addiction and ADHD in biological mothers of children diagnosed with ADHD with a healthy control group and to examine the relationship of possible outcomes with sociodemographic characteristics, ADHD and addiction. Material and Method: The study included 130 participants, 65 mothers of children with ADHD and 65 mothers of healthy children, who met the criteria for participation between the ages of 18-65, were informed and gave consent. Sociodemographic Data Form, Wender-Utah Rating Scale (WURS), Adult Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder Self-Report Scale (ASRS), Difficulty in Emotion Regulation Scale (DDI), Emotion Expression Scale (DSS), and Internet Addiction Scale (IAS) were given to all participants included in the study. ) has been applied. Results: ASRS-attention deficit, ASRS-hyperactivity, and ASRS total score, Wender Utah Scale score, COURSE-awareness, COURSE-clearness, COURSE-rejection, COURSE-impulse and COURSE total score, Expression of Emotion Critical-Annihilation (DD) of the mothers in the case group -ED), Expression of Excessive Interest-Protective-Protective (DD-AIKK) and Expression of Emotion (EE) total score, IAS-deprivation, IAS-control difficulty, IAS-social isolation, and IAS total score were significantly higher than the scores of the mothers included in the control group. was found to be high. A positive and significant correlation was found between ASRS and Wender Utah Scale scores, emotional expression scores, COURS total score and IDI scores. Conclusions: In our study, the incidence of ADHD in mothers in the case group was found to be significantly higher than the rate of mothers in the control group, according to both WURS and ASRS. This supports the publications stating that ADHD is inherited. A positive and significant correlation was found between IDI scores and ASRS and Wender Utah Scale scores, Emotional Expression scores, and COURSE total score.
