Abstract (EN)

The main objective of this study is to research whether the children diagnosed with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) have Sensory Integration Disorder or not. The aim is to analyse which problems are encountered in which sensory system or systems if the Sensory Integration Disorder (SID) is in question by considering the sensory integration profile of the children with ADHD. Further, this study will show which sensory problems are observed in which environments (home or class) more. Even though ADHD and SID were separately discussed in the relevant academic literature in different contexts in Turkey, the relation between them has not been analysed before. Since the research model which was developed for this objective will be offered and tested for the first time in the relevant academic literature, it presents a distinctive value. Chi Square Test and Fisher's Exact Test were used to determine whether there is a relation between ADHD diagnosis and the sensory profiles within scope of research method according to the expected value qualification in the cross tables. The results of the research reveal a statistically meaningful relation between ADHD and some sensory problems. Key Words: Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Sensory Integration Disorder, Senses, SPM Form, Turkey
